Business execution Systems - BES

Sabino Creek has discovered over the years that businesses although similar in size and function often have unique ways of executing business drivers. These drivers often take on the form and personality of the owner or board members driving the company to the business plan. These unique ways of conducting business often create problems for standard enterprise software and decision support systems.

Sabino Creek has developed a system BES (Business Execution System) that enables top line managers to set the course and monitor the key performance indicators and make course corrections as needed. This system is much like the “dash boards”, “wind shields” or “enterprise scorecards” of the past with a decided difference. BES pushes and pulls the data in a manner where the executive or front line manager can be informed and act upon the information in real time. This can be accomplished with BES by providing real time alerts pushed out to a wireless environment like a PDA, desktop or PEN. The BES system can be setup to provide an early warning capability to situations before they become a problem for the enterprise.

Typical examples where BES can be setup are setting triggers to monitor order backorder levels, account receivable balances, enterprise cash position, inventory level, production bottlenecks, supplier performance levels, enterprise sales position against plan and many many more. Once BES is setup the information can be made available to PEN (Private Exchange Network) and pushed out to the appropriate parties for real time data and information exchange.

BES can also be interactive to provide decision gates to change the behavior of the enterprise execution plan. An example might be to monitor the credit of a key customer and set order limits based upon the payment track record. Once a limit is met BES can advise a font line manager that a credit review must take place. If the review is not completed in a timely manner it can be escalated to the next level in the organization automatically. The scenarios for using BES are boundless.

BES was developed to tie various information sources (spreadsheets, ERP databases, third party databases, PEN etc.) together to provide executive management and front line managers with a early warning system that the business plan is getting off track.

Private Exchange Network - PEN
Whether you're a manufacturer, medical professional or a non-profit, organizations often reach critical mass where tight collaboration is needed between its customers, suppliers, partners, users, sales, or support organization. Even though technology supporting supply chain has been around for some time the data hasn’t been available in real time and is often inaccurate. With the advent of the internet, technologies have grown through extranet, and portal intranet capabilities or have simply sprung up behind the four walls of the enterprise. This data is often vulnerable to viruses, hackers and is often abandoned after some time leaving the enterprise with no way to take advantage of a “flat world economy”.

Sabino Creek has finally done something about this. Utilizing our experience over the years with manufacturers and with taking advantage of technology capabilities found within the ©Microsoft .NET platform, Sabino Creek has developed a technology called PEN. PEN is a Private Exchange Network capable of tying the supply chain and all the company resources together. PEN can push, pull, monitor, and coordinate data and information from various information systems through the supply chain with minimal IT help. Once PEN is setup and activated, PEN can provide a secure environment to collaborate with all data resources and users to execute the enterprise plan. PEN will utilize a standard email address as a notification area and will provide secure links into the PEN community making it secure from the viruses and misuses normally found on the internet.

Users can be given limited or full rights to any areas of the system through a secure login environment. Once logged in to PEN, a user can access its message boards, engineering data, product structure information, sales data, order information, messages, reports, etc. Specific areas (i.e. FTP) can be setup to load and download data. The owner of the community can tailor the rules for engaging the community and provide a “standard” for the community to follow. Violators can be monitored and removed with ease or can be restricted to public areas only.

Although this technology has been around for some time, Sabino Creek now has made it available to small and mid sized customers who typically don’t have IT help.
